The RPI Local Delivery Driver is responsible for operating a motor vehicle on company business within a limited geographic area. The Local Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of equipment and materials including proper load securement prior to travel. The role also maintains accurate records of miles driven, deliveries made, and inspections performed on truck and any transported equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Transporting supplies to and from job sites or vendor sites.

• Maintaining a clean work environment, including routine maintenance and cleaning of trucks and equipment.

• Understanding the organization, purpose of the different types of materials, as well as the positioning and lay out of the yard.

• Loading and securing equipment and materials on company trucks/trailers for transport to customer project sites.

• Transporting equipment and supplies to and frim local area project sites or vendor locations while using navigation tools to arrive at the correct address.

• Performing basic truck and trailer maintenance.

• Unloading, receiving and taking inventory of scheduled deliveries, as well as materials brought back on truck from job sites clean ups.

• Restacking pallets of goods and materials so that they are easily accessible as well as easily moved to get to other materials.

• Ensuring that all proper safety and equipment operating safety precautions are being used always.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Valid drivers' license and acceptable MVR with clean driving history required with preference given to Class A or Class B licenses.

• 1-2 years' experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred

• 1-2 years' delivery driver experience using pickup truck/trailer combinations

• Some experience and/or training in repair of mechanical equipment preferred

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers (written and oral)

• Ability to perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)

• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

• General mechanical aptitude

• Safety-focused

• Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs

• Heavy lifting, shoveling dirt, moving material around, 8-10 hours standing per day

• Steel toed shoes are required

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
